U.S.I.U ACTORS HIDDEN CONTROVERSY

According to student’s rights, all campuses all over the country must have theatre groups. We, except a few paranoiacs believe that it’s where real talent begins. This theatre groups work together to produce Kenya’s best actors and actresses. The same theatre groups have turned into a hole of favourism with the help of paranoid powerful, highly ranked- producers, directors and actors. This is done with the aim of selfish interests, corrupt and immature minds never to care about the participation of others and the diminishing voice of other actors and actresses in the industry.

Some campuses don’t even have these groups due to lack of courageous individuals to come forward and fight for their rights! A good example is JKUAT!

Some campuses have the group logically but technically dead due to lack of funds or direction of funds to selfish interest than something that makes society grow morally.

Others get lucky to have the group, all the resources available and hired experienced personnel to make them be the best. Due to this some individuals get to the top and sometimes life changes from the better to worse instead of better to best in terms of professionalism!

The USIU is a campus lucky to have all it requires in the industry, stars have been unveiled from the campus from various areas mainly the acting industry. Instead of using this to the best a couple of discovered and now celebrities use their money and manipulative minds to make sure other groups don’t survive in the industry. As we all know it’s known as THE CAMPUS FOR THE RICH AND FAMOUS KIDS! Some of the unethical behaviors are like- During any audition all available persons are to queue and wait for their time but the USIU students come in a group and get to the auditioning room without any question! In other situations, USIU students are auditioned earlier and sometimes never but no one ever knows how they get to the big screen!

When will someone ever come up and speak up for the rights of the talented? WILL WE FOREVER BE COWARDS AND LET OUR INDUSTRY BE TURNED INTO A SELF INTEREST USIU…..??? These are the same people who make this industry a weak line for this country! Others like the sports and music experience practical outcome because of REAL TALENT. Kenya’s acting industry will never be noticed if such behaviors and persons are in society.

HAS ANYONE EVER ASKED THEMSELVES, AM I WORTH IT???
